It’s the way we all did it. Plywood was used for over- boarding floorboards before laying or fixing ceramic tiles. However, this caused problems because if the grouting cracked or the sealant failed, water would creep in and rot the plywood. A minimum of 15mm plywood has to be used for overboarding floorboards – creating, of course, a dangerous step into the tiled room.
Now there is a solution to eliminate all these problems. A unique, easy to lay, water resistant tile backer board that’s just as effective on the wall as it is on the floor.

Tile Town are stockists of PCS Construction Boards, they are incredibly versatile and are ideal for use where heat and energy savings are important, they are perfect for areas that are subject to moisture i.e wet rooms & bathrooms.
PCS board helps prevent heat loss through concrete floors and is therefore ideal for use with undertile heating systems. When using PCS board in conjunction with underfloor heating, a warm floor can be achieved in as little time as 20 minutes, whereas it can take two hours or more on a system without it.
